Join Pastry Chef Keri Cossette for a sweet afternoon making Fluffy Brioche Donuts filled with a creamy Vanilla Bean Custard and dipped in a Hard Crack Caramel to give the Creme Brûlèe effect!
You’ll start by making a delicious Vanilla Bean Custard and while that’s cooling, Keri will show you how shape some ready- made dough and cut out your heart- shaped donuts. Then, you’ll each bring up a donut to the teacher’s station to learn how to properly fry them off (great photo/video opportunity for Dynamic Duos!) Once you’re back to your stations, grab your donuts* and fill with custard ready for dipping!
Now, the - not-really-hard-part- Keri will guide you though making a Hard Crack Caramel Dipping Sauce and you’ll get to dip your filled donuts and create insta-worthy beauties. You can go au natural, add a little pop of color to your sauce and decorate with sprinkles or a bit of Edible Gold Leaf for an added bit of luxury! Plus, you’ll make a batch of rich, fluffy brioche dough to bring home and have more donuts for tomorrow…or the next day…or freeze the dough for a quick treat whenever you feel the need for a little bit of lovin’ from the oven- (or fryer in this case, but that doesn’t roll off the tongue so easily!)
*We’ll have five freshly cooked donuts per station- in addition to the ones you fry off in class.
